Imphal, June 04 2025: Jiribam district deputy commissioner Krishna Kumar accompanied by SP Sheikh Mohd Zaib Zakir and 20 Battalion CRPF commandant conducted an extensive visit to various villages in the Borobekra sub-division on Wednesday to assess the flood situation and review ongoing road construction works along the JT Road.

The team visited flood-affected villages including Chhotobekra Kaya Punjee, Chhotobekra Bengoli, Bhutangkhal, Borobekra, Jatrapur and Dholakhal Ching Leikai.

During the visit, DC Krishna Kumar interacted with the affected villagers and distributed essential relief materials such as rice, daal, mustard oil, salt and mosquito nets.

At the Borobekra relief camp, he engaged with internally displaced persons (IDPs), listening to their grievances and providing support.

As part of the assistance, he handed over a sewing machine and a guitar to the camp residents.

The DC also visited Netaji High School, where he distributed Beti Bachao Beti Padhao T-shirts to all girl students and local women villagers, promoting the importance of girls' education and empowerment.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Th Manoranjan, CMO, Jiribam Vinay Prasad Sahu, SDC Borobekra M Devananda Singh, and officials from various line departments were present during the inspection.
