Senapati ADC team inspects schools

In pursuance of the Centre's effort to enroll children between 6 - 14 years of age to free and compulsory elementary education through the programme of SSA/RTE, L S Zhiisho, Head master of Shimai Primary School, Lakhamai has resounded the effort through an exemplary initiative by restarting Shimai Primary School from scratch.
An inspection team from ADC, Senapati, found 24 students out of the 32 actual figures present during the inspection.
Other facilities like mid-day-meal, text books, uniforms, whiteboards, register and markers were also found utilized as directed in the school.
The team also toured Zone 10 school of ADC on November 17 and 18 where they interacted with the students of Chingmai Khunou school.
The students, according to the team, were spontaneous and ambitious.
They also responded to the team in English which is rare in Government schools.
Shimai Primary school has five appointed teachers.
Since the number could not serve the needs of the students, villagers, through the initiative of the SMDC/SMC/village authority, appointed another seven self sponsored teachers.
The villagers spends about Rs 3-4 lakhs annually in order to meet the growing need of the school.
The village authority has also constructed two additional rooms for the school without any assistance from the State Government.
L John Kuba, DI of Schools, ADC, Senapati, who shared his experience of inspection in the zone 10 said that other schools mentioned above, more or less, functions in a similar fashion.
"There is a dying need for the people of these villages to constantly work towards the well functioning of the village schools" .
The DI of schools, zone 10 said, "The Government cannot do anything without the participation and innovation of the villagers in whatever project it takes up.
Only with the participation of the village authorities can a project/programme flourish to such an extent that we cannot imagine.
The villages of Chingmai Khullen and LS Zhiisho, Headmaster of Shimai Primary school inspires me to be more committed to my job" .
