1 held for threatening CM on social media

A 32-year-old man identified as Ali Ahmed, who had threatened Chief Minister N Biren Singh on social media was arrested by a combined team of Manipur Police, Special Cell Delhi Police and Tamil Nadu Police, last night from Barthapalli, Hosur, Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu.
This was stated by Haobijam Jogeshchandra, SP Imphal West, during a press conference at Imphal West SP Conference hall today.
The arrested individual identified as Md Ahmed (32) alias Babuji s/o (L) Md Abdul Ali of Lalpani, Cachar district, Assam was brought back to Imphal today evening for taking up necessary legal procedures, by a team of Manipur Police.
Speaking to media persons, he said that acting on information that an unknown individual uploaded a video clip on social media (Facebook, WhatsApp) threatening to kill CM N Biren and using highly defamatory and anti-social words as well as threatening to wage a war against Manipur, Imphal PS registered an FIR and during the course of investigation, the main accused was identified as Ali Ahmed of Lalpani Kharibad Cachar.
He continued that when the State police, along with Assam police, rushed to Cachar to arrest the accused, it was found that he had already left the place.
Then, after getting specific information about the presence of the accused in Barthapalli, Hosur, Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu area, a team of State police, led by Inspector S Chandrakumar (OC, Lamphel police) rushed to Tamil Nadu to arrest him.
The SP informed that Clay Khongsai, IG (Law and Order) coordinated with Tamil Nadu police, Special Cell Delhi police, in the operation to arrest Ali Ahmed.
Finally Ali Ahmed was arrested last night at around 9.The arrested person was produced before the Duty Magistrate today evening and remanded to police custody till November 6 .
The SP further stated that a combined team of Imphal West district and Thoubal police had also arrested two co accused in the case, identified as Raja Khan (35) s/o (L) Rahimuddin of Thoubal Moijing Kangjeibting and Kamal Hassan (29) s/o Abdul Noor of Thoubal Moijing Lamkhai, earlier and the said individuals have been lodged at Sajiwa Central Jail since 11 October.
The SP then appealed all not to spread any false propaganda or threaten any leader, as the police will take up every necessary steps to arrest such individuals.
