CSOs demand immediate redressal of 'disturbing' transfer and posting in Kpi

Kangpokpi, March 19 2021: The Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi District and the civil society organizations considered the present trend of transfer and posting of officials in Kangpokpi district 'very disturbing' and urged the State Government to redress it at the earliest.

Annoyed with the alleged frequent transfer and posting of officials in various departments in the district, a press conference under the aegis of Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi District was held this afternoon at KSO Sadar Hills administrative office building in Kangpokpi DHQs.

Thangminlen Kipgen, general secretary, Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi District said that the Kuki Inpi and CSOs Kpi considered the current trend of transfer and posting in the district very disturbing as the shortage of manpower in the District Administration has never been addressed.

It is a fact that the district kept losing manpower day by day as no replacement had been made so far to any officials transferred out from the district while the transfer order kept on coming, he added.

He recalled that in the recent transfer and posting order of five MCS officers in the district, the ADC/ADM who was also the SDO/BDO of Kangpokpi had to leave the district without any replacement, rather the four other MCS officers transferred and posted within the district were given additional post to fill the vacant posts.

He continued that this is not the first time but it has become an 'unwanted trend' in the district that transfer orders are made to certain Government officials without any replacement.

The Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi Secretary stated that the people of Kangpokpi are fed up with such step motherly treatment of the district and finally decided that each vacant post shall be individually filled up by a single and capable officer within a week.

He also said that if the demands are not met at the earliest, the Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi would denounce the recent transfer and posting orders of the five MCS officers and not allow them to leave the district without replacement.

The Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi and the civil society organizations of the district also warned that if the demands to either fill the vacant posts individually or revoke the recent transfer and posting orders of the five MCS officers are not met within a week, it will be compelled to resort to various forms of agitation.
