Imphal, February 28 2014 :
JAC constituted in connection with the assasination of former MPP Vice-President Haobijam Manisana has alleged that culprits involved in the broad daylight killing of the political leader are still absconding due to the lackadaisical attitude of the State Government regarding the incident.
Speaking at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, JAC chairman N Ranbir said that perpetrators of Manisana could not be arrested till date as the Government adopts a one-sided principle.
It may be mentioned that armed group KYKL had claimed non involvement of the outfit in the incident after a National newspaper had reported arrest of a KYKL man, who was involved in the assasination, quoting Union Home Ministry source.
In the meantime, a local newspaper had again reported arrest of a URF man involved in the murder of Manisana.
As such, Ranbir said, the State Government must issue a clarification on these contradicting reports as these reports had created a confusion in the mind of the general public.
The JAC would launch different forms of intense agitations if the Government fails to come up with a concrete answer to these reports.
Taking part at the press conference, Manisan's son H Tiken alleged that the State Government has not taken up any step to solve the murder case.
Tiken also questioned whether the Government is not taking interest in the incident as his father belongs to another political party.
