TCMDC, PTRC, CRAU, ESU stroll in MNCA Men's U-19 Tournament

Imphal, February 11 2024:
The second day of the 2nd MNCA Mens U-19 Tournament saw TCMDC (Thongju II Pechu Lampak), PTRC (Patsoi Part IV), CRAU (Khamnam Bazar) and ESU (Wangkhei Palace Compound)-notch up comfortable victories.
TCMDC thrashed KASC (Khomidok) by 8 wickets at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal.
The Thongju squad unleased a lethal bowling attack to dismiss KASC for 74 in 17.3 overs after the latter opted to bat.
Albert Sorokhaibam and Ringku Kangujam led the scalping for TCMDC, taking 3 wickets apiece.
On the other hand, Vishonath Laishram picked up 2 wickets while Rain Urikhimbam and Nepram Richer Singh chipped in with one each.
In KASC's innings, Mus-taque (14), Muhammad Ali Karim (12) and Md Aqeei (10) managed to reach double figures while four other batters fell for ducks.
In reply, TCMDC needed 12 overs to eclipse KASC's total, losing 2 wickets in the process.
Pukhrambam Rohit Khuman led the way with an unbeaten 23, while Waikhom Mathoi Meitei made 21 and Rain Urikhimbam contributed 4 (not out) to their team's commanding win.
In the chase, both Mathoi and Thomsan (o) fell prey to Md Aqeel's bowling.
PTRC recorded a convincing 82-run victory against TRAU (Kwakeithel) at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur, Thoubal.
Electing to bat, PTRC were all out for 175 in 29.4 overs.
Robinson Sougaijam (48), Chingakham Nikhil Meetei (30), Champion (20), Loukrakpam Anao Singh (15), Gung Gung (13) and Stoneson (13) were key contributors in their innings.
For TRAU, Aditya Thingnam and Roshan Tamang grabbed 3 wickets each, Subham Raut got 2, and Philan Rajkumar took one.
PTRC then bowled TRAU out for 93 in 32 overs, with Gung Gung getting 5 wickets, Tamarland Pheiroijam claiming 3 scalps, and Khaidem Joyraj Meitei and Henba Paonam collecting one each.
Huiningshumbam Luching scored 27 and Aditya Thingnam got 17 (not out) in TRAU's futile chase.
CRAU, meanwhile, outplayed SCCC (Singjamei) by 51 runs in a low-scoring match at Model Hr.
Secondary & Oriental College Ground, Imphal.
Put in to bat, CRAU scored 123 after they were bowled out in 20.4 overs.
Their total was built around Ph Jodash's 54 as none of the other batters, with the exception of Kh Lohitsun (10), reached double digits.
For SCCC, Basant claimed 3 wickets, Jimmy oinam took 2, and Pravesh, Syed Hanif and Th Borish bagged one each.
In their response, CRAU took 23.1 overs to end SCCC's run chase for 72 as Basant's fighting 46 went in vain.
Bonny Thokchom was the pick of CRAU's bowlers with 5 wickets, while Heishnam Joyhenba Meitei collected 3, and Boocker Kangjam and Kh Lohitsun chipped in with one apiece to their victory.
ESU beat BLUE HAWK (Khurai Lamlong) by 40 runs at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
The Wangkhei squad elected to bat and finished with 115 after getting bowled in 21.2 overs.
Hanjabam Naoba Sharma (25), Hanjabam Donba Sharma (18), Soibam Venus Singh (15) and Thokchom Simesh Singh (13) all reached double figures in their innings.
ESU, despite their poor showing in their innings, bowled brilliantly to wipe out BLUE HAWK's batting order in 24.1 overs for 75.Hanjabam Donba Sharma emerged as the star of the win, snapping 6 wickets as Hanjabam Naoba Sharma contributed 3 wickets and Thokchom Simesh Singh took one.
Earlier, Moirangthem Romesh Singh picked up 4 wickets, Ziad Khan claimed 3, and Krishnakanta Ngangkham and Akoijam Dhitaraj Singh took one each for BLUE HAWK.
