MPSC, KCC set up MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 title clash

Imphal, January 23 2024:
MPSC (Manipur Central Jail) and KCC (Kongba Bazar) set up title clash of the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2023-24, following their semifinal wins on Tuesday.
MPSC beat WYC (Thoubal Wangkhem) by 4 wickets at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal to seal their place in the final.
They bowled out WYC in 19.5 overs for 110 and secured their semifinal triumph after chasing down the target with four wickets to spare.
Maibam Bijoykumar Singh led the scalping for MPSC, claiming 3 wickets in his 3.5-over span.
Gelson Singh Thoudam and Sarangthem Shangker Singh did their bit with 2 wickets apiece while Oinam Rojit Singh and Indraban S Koijam took one wicket each to lay the foundation for their team's victory.
WYC's innings saw Laishram Rajesh Singh score 56 and Mangi Sharma and Goti-mayum make 13, with none of the other batters reaching double figures.
In their response, MPSC did not have it easy, but they managed to get past their opponents in 19.1 overs, scoring 113 runs to eclipse WYC's total.
Gelson Singh Thoudam (31), Potsangbam Bonem Singh (19), Soubam Kingson Singh (14) and Chingangbam Lokeshwor Singh (10 not out) were the main contributors in their successful run chase.
For WYC, Wanghkhem Laksmon Singh and Ruhit Nongmaithem picked up 2 wickets each while Mangi Sharma Gotimayum and Huirongbam Biteshwor Singh bagged one each.
KCC, on the other hand, made it to the final with a 3-wicket win over UCC (Kangchup Road) at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground, Imphal.
Electing to bat, UCC scored 117/9 with efforts from Thangjam Anson Singh (31), Konsam Gulson Singh (23), Haobam Ajitkumar Singh (17) and Leishangthem Bishorjit (11) .
KCC's bowling attack saw Hijam Boba Singh grab 3 wickets, Nameirakpam Arbin Singh and Tayenjam Tomba Singh take 2 each, and Singthoi Singh Nandeibam contribute one.
The Kongba side then achieved the target in 15.3 overs, scoring 122/7 as Rohen Singh led the chase with a knock of 43, followed by Keisham Basantakumar Singh (27 not out), Keisham Mranojit Singh (23) and Hijam Boba Singh (15).For UCC, Laishram Bhuson Singh claimed 4 scalps in a losing cause.
