LCCC win in 11th Manipur Veteran T20 Cricket Tournament opener

Imphal, January 23 2024: The 11th edition of the Manipur Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament kicked off today at Langthabal Public Ground under the aegis of Manipur Veteran Cricket Association.

The opening match of the 15-team tournament saw LCCC Lilong Chajing kicking off their group (A) campaign with a comfortable 7-wicket win over SNC-Sangaiprou courtesy an allround performance from Jinta.

SNC elected to bat first and posted a total of 99 runs for seven wickets as LCCC bowlers were too economical.

Romeshchandra 22 not out was the highest run getter for the team in their innings which saw Jinta enjoying a three wicket haul.

Krishna and Ashok also picked up a wicket apiece for LCCC before Jinta scored an unbeaten 53 off 26 balls to guide the team to the target in 10 overs.

M Pratap 23 and S Rakesh 13 also added double digit runs for the winning side as Satyajit, W Rajen and Khumansana of SNC picked up a wicket apiece.

SHADOW-Thangmeiband will play CHAMP-Khagempalli in the Group D opener tomorrow morning before CYCLONE meet UCC in the Group C opener in the afternoon.
