Imphal, January 23 2024:
Pointing out that 10,050 Village Defence Force (VDF) have been taking important roles in maintaining law and order both in the hill and valley areas of the state for the last 14 years, All Manipur VDF Employees' Welfare Association (AMVDFEWA) has urged the government to give more responsibilities to VDF for saving Manipur.
In a release, AMVDFEWA said that VDFs are also in the frontlines amid the present conflict and staying at bunkers as their homes.
All the 10,050 VDFs still stand firmly for defending the motherland without any fear.
They can even lay down their lives for the land, the release said, while urging the government for deploying additional VDFs in areas declared as red zones by the government so as to help in ending the conflict which has been continuing for more than eight months now.
