Centre hailed for border fencing, FMR withdrawal

Lamlai Kendra United Club Peace and Development Committee (LKUCPDC) has hailed the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah for understanding root cause of the present crisis in state and heeding to wishes of people of Manipur by taking up border fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border and withdrawing Free Movement Regime (FMR) .
In a release, LKUCPDC general secretary Sanjoy Mangsatabam urged the central and state governments to acknowledge the other demands of state's denizens including implementation of NRC, revocation of Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement signed with Kuki armed outfits, despatch of Myanmarese refugees in Manipur to Mizoram, removal of Assam Rifles from the state and delisting of Kuki illegal immigrants from Scheduled Tribe list at the earliest for restoring peace in Manipur.
LKUCPDC further extended its support to the protest called by People's Alliance for Peace and Progress Manipur (PAPPM) on February 15 .
