Naga union gives peace call

Imphal, July 31 2023:
The Naga Peoples' Union, Imphal (NPUI) urged both the state and central governments to bring peace and tranquillity in the state ravaged by nearly three months of ethnic violence.
On behalf of all the Naga people residing in Imphal, the NPUI appealed to non-Naga fraternity and communities to properly identify Naga tribes living in Imphal as well as coordinate and cooperate to avoid unwanted incident in future.
According to the NPUI, there are people of 20 Naga tribes living in Imphal such as Kharam, Tarao, Monsang, Moyon, Chothe, Khoibu, Aimol, Chiru, Inpui, Zeme, Thangal, Maram, Lamkang, Anal, Liangmei, Maring, Mao, Poumai, Tangkhul and Kabui/Rongmei.
