IM major killed, two injured in IED blast

Imphal, July 24 2024:
At least a major of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) was killed and two others left injured after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded along the Indo-Myanmar border close to Wangli village under Ukhrul district on Wednesday.
The deceased NSCN-IM major has been identified as Hosiya Asumi while identities of the two other injured are yet to be established.
According to a report, the explosion occurred around 7.30 am Wednesday in an area under Border Pillar nos 89, 90 and 91 (formerly 8, 9 and 10) located along the international border at a distance of one kilometre from Wangli village, Ukhrul district and Phayang village, Myanmar.
The IED left a major of NSCN-IM dead and two others injured.
