Even as Manipur is reeling under ethnic clash for over 150 days, two persons from Churachandpur district have been caught with heroin worth over Rs 70 lakh in Assam's Badarpur.
The two persons have been identified as Lalsanjo and Tunhaulian Langel.
The two from Churachandpur were arrested along with three other persons, Hassan Ali, Najir Uddin and Babul Hussain Laskar, from Assam's Badarpur, said India TodayNE.
Badarpur police seized around 277.22 grams of heroin from the smugglers.
A raid was carried out by the Badarpur police following specific intelligence inputs about a drug smuggling operation.

The accused were caught red-handed during a drug deal behind a pan shop near a Mosque in Badarpur's West Deorail region, said India TodayNE report.
The narcotics were transported from Mizoram to Badarpur for distribution, according to officials.
Since ethnic clashes broke out in Manipur on May 3, drug smuggling/trafficking activities in Mizoram are on the rise.
In October first week, PTI quoted Mizoram police officials stating that Mizoram had become the new route for smuggling drugs.
After May 3, several Myanmar Nationals and residents of Manipur have been caught in Assam, Mizoram and other neighbouring States with drugs worth crores.
In the month of October alone, security forces have arrested at least five persons from Manipur's Churachandpur district with drugs.
One of the five persons is a commander of the United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA), which comes under the banner of the Kuki National Organisation (KNO), a signatory of the Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact.
The commander of UTLA, Lemtinsei Singson was arrested on October 15 by security forces along with 124 grams of suspected "brown sugar" from Phaitol village in Tamenglong district.
Lemtinsei Singson alias Seiphu (50) is son of Letkhosei Singson of Chiengkonpang village, near SDO office Churachandpur.
Days later on October 23, security forces arrested two cadres of non-SoO group Kuki Liberation Army (KLA) along with 2.5 Kg of opium, over Rs 4.86 lakh in cash and a huge cache of arms and ammunition.
The two cadres of the KLA were arrested from Chaljang, Churachandpur district along the Indo-Myanmar border.
Security forces recovered two INSAS Rifles, one MQ Assault Rifle, one AK-47 Rifle and a Sniper Rifle from their possession.
On August 24, Cachar police had said they arrested four persons from Manipur's Churachandpur and Kangpokpi district with 1.5 Kg of heroin.
The four persons were identified as Mamang Haokip (36), Haobem Haokip (30), Henboi Haokip (39) and Gogou Paite (30) .
According to the police, Mamang, Henboi and Gogou are from Churachandpur, while Haobem hails from Kangpokpi. Cachar police had said they came from Churachandpur in a Bolero car and entered Cachar through Mizoram.
