Ruling MLAs confer on AT's invitation

Imphal, January 23 2024: With Chief Minister N Biren in the chair, Meitei Ministers and MLAs of the ruling parties held a meeting this evening at the Chief Minister's Secretariat on the Arambai Tenggol sponsored meeting.

Notably, the Arambai Tenggol has already invited all the Meitei MLAs to the meeting scheduled at Kangla at 10 am tomorrow (Wednesday) .

It also appealed to all the Meitei legislators to attend the meeting without fail.

The meeting which started at around 4 pm went on till 6.30 pm.

BJP MLAs who stayed away from a similar meeting held earlier on the same matter were also present at today's meeting.

The meeting deliberated on how the Meitei legislators should respond to the Arambai Tenggol's invitation but they could not arrive at any concrete decision.

Nonetheless, a team of Ministers/MLAs was sent to talk with Korounganba Khuman and other leaders of Arambai Tenggol.

After the team had talked with the Arambai Tenggol, the meeting resumed at around 8.30 pm.

Apart from Meitei legislators, other legislators belonging to Meitei Pangal community were also present at the meeting.

Leaders of Arambai Tenggol will meet Meitei MLAs and Ministers tomorrow at Kangla at 10 am.

The meeting is likely to be held in the absence of CM, said sources.
