IEDUCO celebrates foundation day

Under the aegis of All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO), Imphal East District United Clubs' Organisation (IEDUCO) celebrated its 18th foundation day at Yumnam Khunou community hall on Monday.
Presided over by IEDUCO president Dwijo Takhellambam, the function was attended by JNIMS director Dr Deben Laishram as chief guest and AMUCO president Pheiroijam Nando Luwang as guest of honour, while Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur general secretary Th Apabi Leima, All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) president Y Kunjarani, Makeng Dolaithabi Imphal East ZP member N Sanatomba, Yumnam Khunou Makha Singlup president S Biren Meitei, Women Social Wel-fare Association, Yumnam Khunou Makha Leika president M Ibemnungshi Leima and Iramdam Kanba Lup (IKAL) president H Ibo hanbi were special guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Nando Luwang urged all not to turn against each other, adding that this is what the Kuki-Zo terrorists wants to see.
Any demand or decision for protecting the integrity and unity of Manipur must be taken after serious considering so as prevent it from backfiring.
There is need to strategize tp prevent casualties amongst the village volunteers and for the ministers and MLAs to have firm resolve.
Staging protests in the valley when our people are killed in the periphery areas and blaming the ministers or MLAs will bring no benefit, as we have seen till date, he remarked.
Nando emphasised that even if we have differences or disagreements, we need to keep it aside and focus on the long-term survival of the state.
One should refrain from speaking or doing anything which could hurt the sentiments of the people at this juncture.
He urged state forces to execute their responsibilities properly without fearing for the loss of their jobs, especially when the simple villagers are taking up arms to defend their villages, which is the responsibility of the state forces in the first place.
