More fleeing from Kuki militants' attack

Since the beginning of the ethnic conflict on May 3 many people have been displaced from Moirang and Kumbi assembly constituencies and in past few days the number of people fleeing has increased from areas of Terakhongshangbi, Khudekpi and Tronglaobi due to attacks by Kuki militants.
The conflict broke out on May 3 evening after the Tribal Solidarity March, when a mob also comprising Kuki militants vandalised and burned down Meetei houses at Torbung and Kangvai in Kumbi AC and in Meetei areas of Churachandpur district forcing many to seek refuge in relief camps.
Many of the displaced persons recounted tales of how Meeteis were killed by Kukis including armed militants and their properties destroyed.
In Churachandpur town all houses of Meetei were flattened using excavators.
In Torbung and Phougakchao Ikhai Awang, Mayai & Maning under Kumbi AC majority of the Meetei land has been occupied by Kukis and bunkers set up.
After occupying these localities, Kuki militants since July 27 morning till date are relentlessly attacking Terakhongshangbi, Khudekpi and Tronglaobi with bombs and bullets to occupy the areas, but have been so far been thwarted by village volunteers and state security forces.
Due to such attacks, people of Terakhongshangbi, Khudekpi and Tronglaobi have started fleeing for safer places with many Meetei lands and farmlands nearby the foothills occupied by Kukis.
The villagers have started removing their movable properties to safer places with women and children sent to relief camps for security.
Several people of Meitei Pangal community from Tronglaobi, Terakhongshangbi and Torbung Gram Panchayats have also been displaced as they top suffered injuries during gunfights in past few days.
