ZUF frees captive NSCN-IM trio

All the three cadres of NSCN-IM, who had been in the custody of the outfit since the past few days, have been released on Monday by Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) on moral ground consonant with ceasefire agreement.
The released NSCN-IM cadres are Thanilung Gangmei son of Meilianlak Gangmei of Reangpang village (Leacy Zeilad Region), self-styled corporal David Daimei son of Pihingbou Daimei of Tharon village (Jadonang Brigade) and SS private Houthaingam Kamei son of Namsadai Kamei of Nungba Part-1 (Jadonang Brigade) .
According to a joint statement of Zeliangrong civil society organisations, all the NSCN-IM cadres held captive by ZUF were released after a thorough sharing and understanding of the matter with the representatives of ZUF and self-declaration by all the NSCN-IM cadres.
They have been set free on moral ground consonant with ceasefire agreement and the ongoing political talk by ZUF, the joint statement said adding that release of the NSCN-IM cadres were made in accordance with age-old Zeliangrong traditional ethic to spare the lives of captives as fellow Naga brothers.
All the captives declared themselves before the ZUF and CSO leaders that they shall never take up arms against ZUF or in any manner or act detrimental to ZUF under all circumstances and shall remain grateful to ZUF and leaders of CSOs for saving their precious lives.
The declaration also said that NSCN-IM cadres operating randomly without any regards to ZUF and owners of land with their wilful violence and killing in Zeliangrong areas should be stopped and remain within their respective designated camps.
Taxation and extortion along NH-37 and NF Railway that stretch across Zeliangrong homeland falling within the cover areas of ZUF should not be interfered or disturbed in any manner, it maintained.
