Biren eyes both seats in Lok Sabha 2024 polls

Elated over the success of BJP in three states which went to the polls recently and the results of which were declared on Sunday, chief minister N Biren Singh has expressed confidence of his party wresting, the two seats from Manipur as well in the Lok Sabha election due in 2024 .
With BJP recording huge victories in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, chief minister N Biren and BJP state president A Sharda along with party leaders and workers celebrated the victory at Thambal Shanglen, Nityaipat Chuthek, here, on Sunday evening.
Addressing party workers on the occasion, Biren said that he was tense till final results of the polls came out as campaigning for the elections in five states were also centred on the crisis in Manipur.
The crisis in Manipur not only rocked Parliament but also had the opposition parties moving a no confidence motion against the PM Modi-led government.
As campaigning for elections in five states (Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh) had substantial remarks on the crisis in Manipur, he was in a state of uncertainty over thinking if BJP would not fare well in the election.
However, positive results came out by the grace of God after counting mainly due to hectic efforts of PM Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah, Biren said while reiterating that he has high hopes of the BJP emerging victorious in both the hills and valley of Manipur in the 2024 Lok Sabha election as well.
He then appealed to people of Manipur to work collectively in the upcoming Lok Sabha election so that BJP could bag two seats in the state.
Though counting of votes for assembly election in Mizoram is yet to be conducted, chief minister N Biren said the party which incited violence and bifurcation of Manipur will be defeated in Mizoram.
N Biren also asserted that Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term after the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Addressing the party workers and function -aries, the chief minister said, "Manipur issue had rocked Parliament.
The opposition had even moved a no confidence motion against the government.
In several election campaigns in the states of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, the issue of ethnic strife-hit Manipur was raised.
It worried me and I could not even sleep properly" .
"Truth however has prevailed.
I am very happy for BJP's victory in the assembly polls in the three states.
I am sure Modi and the BJP will win in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Modi is certain to become the prime minister for third consecutive time," he added.
He also attributed the success of the party to Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda also said that BJP did no wrong and is committed to protecting territorial integrity of Manipur.
She said that every member of BJP played their part in helping people affected by the violence in Manipur and the party worked as per pulses of the people in the crisis.
Ministers, MLAs, party leaders and workers also joined the celebration.
