Bishnupur, August 01 2025:
The Flying Squad of Moirang Circle, under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Moirang, Chirom Somerendro, conducted a field visit today to Khoirentak, Thamnapokpi under Moirang SubDivision.
The visit aimed to verify cultivation of paddy fields reportedly carried out by non-owners.
The field verification was conducted following grievances received from the rightful owners of the concerned paddy fields.
The field visit was carried out by the Flying Squad, which comprises SDC Moirang, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moirang and personnel from central forces.
SDO Moirang, Chirom Somerendro, stated that a report on the findings from the visit would be submitted to the competent authorities for necessary action.
He also informed that continuous monitoring of the fringe areas has been underway since early July.
It may be noted that the Flying Squads for the district were constituted on July 4 2025, with the purpose of improving coordination and ensuring timely intervention in agricultural matters, especially in the fringe areas of Bishnupur district, to facilitate peaceful cultivation.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur had conducted multiple field visits to directly hear the grievances of farmers.
During these visits, farmers requested the DC to ensure peaceful cultivation and to prevent unauthorized farming activities in the fringe areas.
In response, the DC had assured full support from the District Administration.
