AR promotes 'Fit India Movement'

Assam Rifles conducted programmes at various locations to promote 'Fit India Movement' .
Somsai Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of headquarters IGAR (South) conducted a 5 kms Walkathon at Awangkasom village today to promote the Government's initiative under "Fit India Movement (FIM)" & health awareness amongst the troops of Assam Rifles & villagers of border villages, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
An approximate strength of 150 villagers alongwith troops of Assam Rifles participated in the event with great zeal & enthusiasm.
The 5 km Walkathon was conducted for all age groups including ladies & children.
All COVID-19 related precautions were deliberately followed during the conduct of the event.
The walkathon culminated with tea and refreshments with the villagers.
The villagers acclaimed the efforts of Assam Rifles with the phrase "Assam Rifles a true friend of hill people", added the statement.
In another instance Sajik Tampak Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a friendly football match in Sajik Tampak, Chandel district today.
The friendly football match was played between teams of Sajik Tampak Battalion, Assam Rifles and Kana Area Games & Sport Association (KAGSA) with the aim to spread awareness about importance of physical fitness & healthy living, foster competitive spirit, sportsmanship and strengthen the bonhomie between the Assam Rifles and local populace of Kana Valley, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
