After winning today's matches, NYASO, Nambol Naorem, TBSFA (Red), Taobungkhok and YWC, Thambalkhong have entered the quarter final rounds of the ongoing 27th State Level Mini Boys' Football Tournament, 2009 organised by the Thangmeiband Athletic Union (THAU) at THAU ground, Thangmeiband, Imphal.
Today's first match was played between Naorem Youth Athletic Sports Organisation (NYASO), Nambol Naorem and Youth Pregoressive Association, Uripok of group B.NYASO beat goalless YPA with six goals and entered quarter final rounds.
Players of NYASO dominated the players of YPA from the very beginning of the match giving them no chance to strike back.
The first goal was scored by T Samananda in the 19th minute.
O Basanta scored two goals in the 25th and 32nd minutes.
Th Thoiba and O Haridas also scored one goal each in the 40th and 46th minutes of the match.
On the other hand no players of YPA could scored any goal against NYASO and lost the match.
Meanwhile, Th Birachandra Sports Football Academy (TBSFA-Red), Taobungkhok beat Youth Welfare Club (YWC), Thambalkhong 3-1 in today's seocnd match.
However both teams have entered quarter final rounds as group winner and runners of group C.TBSFA players dominantly played the match from the beginning.
Th Santosh of TBSFA scored the first goal of the match in the 9th minute of the match while his teammate Sh Sanker scored the second goal in the 19th minute of the match.
With two goals ahead of them, players of YWC tried their best to equalised the score and managed to equalise at least one goal in the 21st minute of the match.
The equaliser goal was scored by A Aboi of YWC.
Meanwhile L Bidyashwar of TBSFA scored his team's third goal against YWC in the 35th minute of the match and won the match.
In another keenly contested match of group C, YPHU, Lalambung Makhong beat Majorkhul Young Association (MYA), Majorkhul 1-0 and won the match.
Both teams displayed a real tough match against one another giving each other little chance to strike back.
It was by sheer luck that YPHU won the match with a goal of L Sivananda in the 3rd minute of the match which took the players of MYA by surprise.
On the other hand MYA players tried their best to equalised the score but could not make it against their eqully strong opponent team.
