Kanggui win Mangboi Cup title

Kanggui Christian College wrested the title of the 4th Mangboi Cup 2011 football tournament with a 2-1 defeat of Motbung Youth Club at Brig M Thomas Ground,
Kangpokpi today.
Kanggui's goals were scored by Paokhomang Hangshing and Thangsaija while Laljoulen was the scorer for Motbung YC, who were awarded Rs 30,000 .
The champions walked home richer with the top prize of Rs 50,000 as TMT, Songjang which defeated Bongbal XI 2-1 earlier in the third place play-off were awarded Rs 5000 with the fourth position winner bagging Rs 2000 .
The best discipline team award, carrying a cash prize of Rs 2000 was presented to JSYC, T Songtun while Monk Mangte of Kanggui CC was adjudged the best goalkeeper.
Robert of TMT, Songjang, who scored 10 goals in the competition was awarded Rs 1000, as the top scorer prize.
Closing ceremony of the month-long tournament organised by Sadar Hills District Sports Association in collaboration with Sadar Hills Veteran Team were graced by the presence of Hill Areas Committee Chairman Thangminlien Kipgen and 43 AR Commanding Officer Col Swarn Singh as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Vice Chairman of SHADC Haokholal Hangshing was also present at the occasion as the functional president.
