Tamenglong, December 07 2011:
Irritated District Hospital Welfare Association Tamenglong today set 15 December 2011 as deadline to close down the hospital if grievances are not redressed.
A press release jointly signed by President DHWA, Tamenglong, Lugai Kamei, and Secy DHWA Guiriankham said that the district hospital is now being run by six Medical Officers and only eight Nurses for OPD and Indoor.
Stating that the district hospital Tamenglong is the only referral hospital in the entire district posting of adequate number of staffs, especially doctors and nurses is required for its day- to- today functioning, it said the hospital is on the verge of collapse due to inadequate posting of doctors and nurses.
The situation is further aggravated by frequent transfers without sending replacements.
