According to a reliable source from the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) the prize money for the winner and runners up of the ongoing 54th CC Meet will be increased to ' 1,00,000 and ' 50,000 respectively.
This will give the players a new incentive.
Till now five teams have been knocked out of the tournament.
TRUGPU, Nambol, NEROCA, Sangakpham and YDO, Kwakeithel were knocked out from the tournament after losing their second round matches today.
The other two teams are USA and AIFA.
Meanwhile, AMOFA, Moirang, KSC, Lambulane and YWC, Thambalkhong entered the pre quarter finals after winning today's second round matches.
In the first match today, AMOFA, Moirang beat TRUGPU, Nambol 6-5 to enter the pre quarter finals.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw after normal time.
Dhananjoy scored the lone goal of TRUGPU in the 36th minute.
Whereas AMOFA's solitary goal was an own.
In the tie break AMOFA converted four goals while TRUGPU could find the net only three times and thus lost the match.
The four goals of AMOFA were scored by Iboyaima, Premananda, Anand and Kirankumar.
The three goals of TRUGPU were scored by Anthony, Gobin and Sushil.
The second match today played between KSC, Lambulane and NEROCA, Sangakpham was won by KSC.
They defeated NEROCA 4-2 to enter the pre quarter finals.
The first half of the match ended goalless.
Thomas of NEROCA and Lamkholen Kipgen of KSC were sent out of the match when they began to quarrel in the 69th minute of the match.
The match resumed with 10 players on each side.
As they played the match equal skills and tactics, the match ended in a scoreless draw.
In the tie break, KSC's goalkeeper Nangoulal successfully saved two shots of NEROCA to win the match.
The third match, today, was won by YWC, Thambalkhong defeating YDO, Kwakeithel 5-1.YWC have also entered the pre quarter finals.
K Kiran of YWC scored three goals against YDO in the 40th, 54th and 62nd minutes of the match.
F Laljajor scored two goals in the 72nd and 90th minutes of the match.
On the other hand the lone goal of YDO was scored by Haokam Kilong in the 51st minute of the match.
ESU and MPSC will play the first match tomorrow at 9.30 am.
The second match at 11.30 am will feature NISA and SU.
UBSA will take on AIM in the third match tomorrow at 1.30 pm.
