Imphal, December 12 2010:
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has appealed to women activists of all communities to help the Government in solving the myriad issues and problems plaguing Manipur.
He was speaking at the Nupi Lan anniversary function organised by the State Government at Nupi Lan complex.
Earlier, the Chief Minister led dignitaries and the public in paying floral tributes to the brave martyrs and leaders of the two Nupi Lans of 1904 and 1939 .
The anniversary function was graced by Chief Minister O Ibobi as chief guest and YAS Minister N Biren as president.

Speaking at the occasion, Ibobi lauded the bravery of the women activists who stood up and fought against the British rulers during the two Nupi Lans.
He also noted that women activists of the State have been shouldering heavy responsibilities at crucial periods.
He also sought cooperation from women of all communities in bringing a lasting solution to the myriad of problems and issues besetting the State.
He asserted that there must be a solution for every problem.
The Chief Minister called upon all to make Manipur a land of jewel in its real sense as it used to be called in the days gone by.
"Let's make Manipur a developed and peaceful State.
Instead of levelling allegations and counter allegations against one another, let's us consult together and find out what is best for the society.
For this, the Government has its door wide open", Ibobi stated.
In his presidential speech, Youth Affairs abd Sports Minister Biren sought women's cooperation and support in all efforts to resolve the problem of insurgency through democratic means.
Simply observing Nupi Lan anniversary every year would have little significance.
It would be more significant when women engage themselves in a serious re-thinking on whether or not they have inherited the courage and principle of those Nupi Lan leaders.
Biren further called upon all community leaders and civil society leaders to give up the practice of working with parochial outlooks.
