Imphal, December 12 2010:
All Manipur Students' Guardians' Organisation has categorically refuted charges of double admission levelled by the Council of higher Secondary Education, Manipur against a class XI student.
Speaking to news persons at Palace Compound office of the Organisation, advisor N Tomba denied the Council's assertion that the student in question Thingom Ranjita Devi is enrolled in class XI at Ibotonsana Girls Higher Secondary School, Uripok as well as at Ideal Girls' College, Akampat.
Asserting that Ranjita had been attending class at the Uripok school, Tomba informed that Ranjita had indeed obtained admission form from ideal Girls' College after declaration of the HSLC examination result but never applied for admission at the latter institution.
Ridiculing the Council's insistence that Ranjita cough up Rs 10,000 as penalty fee failing which she would be debarred from appearing in the class XI common question examination, the advisor suggested that rather than punish the innocent student it would be more appropriate if the Council investigate to find out mistake committed, if any, by the institution concerned.
