Imphal, December 01 2010:
A member team of Kumari's Wood-Stalks School, Mongsangei with its principal as team captain will leave Imphal on December 20 for a trekking expedition to Zanskar River at Ladakh.
A release of the School said the expedition will start from Manali and the trekkers will have to cover a distance of about 450 kilometres in high altitude to reach the destination.
As preparation for the expedition the team members have been trekking the entire length of Cheirao Ching every Sunday since June 2010 as a part of conditioning camp in addition to walking 40 kms once a week, the release added.
The School is informed to have had organised similar expedition programmes to Meghalaya and Sikkim as well as coastal trekking covering Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Goa and Maharashtra.
