Sanathoi accorded rousing welcome

Imphal, August 30 2015 :
Arjuna Awardee Yumnam Sanathoi Devi of Yairipok Top Chingtha, Imphal East was given a rousing welcome at the Tulihal International Airport, Imphal by all sports lovers of the State including national and international players.
Sanathoi was taken on a decorated gypsy vehicle with her coach, officials and other players along the airport road where hundreds of fans and well wishers greeted her.
Beaming with victorious smile, she also acknowledged the contributions of the crowd, sports lovers and fans of Wushu.

The reception at the airport was organised by Wushu Association of Manipur and other volunteers.
She was also accorded warm welcome by Amateur Institute of Wushu Thoubal District, Yairipok, Manipur whose members also organised another reception at Yairipok Bishnunaha Leikai Community Hall.
Recognising her contribution as the winner and for the development of Wushu in the State, Wushu Association of Manipur also felicitated her as she arrived in Imphal after receiving the prestigious award from the President of India at a glittering function held on Saturday Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.
Sanathoi took up Wushu, a traditional Chinese martial arts in 2003 under the guidance of Maibam Surbala Devi and later under Moirangthem Ibomcha Meetei.
