The second Literary Meet of Eramdam Meeyamgi Apunba Khorjei Lup (EMAKHOL) was held on Sunday at Manipur Press Club here with a session of patriotic poem recitation.
Art and Culture and Revenue Department, Government of Manipur, Secretary K Radhakumar attended the function as chief guest while president of EMAKHOL Dr Ch Chandrakala as the president on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Progressive Writers Association Manipur president Salam Tomba said that a number of people write poems in Manipur but all of them are not poets.
Though a small state, Manipur is rich in the field of literature and the state owns the highest number of poets in India, he said.
But time has come to understand the reason for not receiving any Sahitya Academy Awards by Manipuri poets since the last ten years despite having many poets, added Salam Tomba.
