Chandel JAC appeals for restoration of transformer

After normal supply of power in about seven villages of Chandel district headquarters came to a grinding halt for almost 20 days due to the damaged caused to a transformer near Chandel SDO office, the newly formed JAC on Electricity Consumers Welfare Programme (ECWP) Chandel District headquarters appealed to the MSPCL to replace the same with one having higher voltage at the earliest.
Briefing media persons here in Chandel, secretary of the JAC Ts Caleb informed that the new committee comprising of seven members in a meeting held at Japhou market shed on August 29 had decided to take up the issues for consumers' welfare.
The meeting elected Js Angam, Ts Caleb, Ht Pollingson, Ht Dromishing, Wng Thumthung, Francis and Sk Sunny as chairman, secretary and members respectively, Caleb said.
While maintaining that many power consumers in some section of Japhou Bazar, Hnahringkhu, Soland, Riverlane, Panchai, Abungnikhu and Abungnikhu have not been getting supply due to the damage caused to the transformer, secretary of the JAC said the same should be replaced with higher voltage to avoid similar damage in future.
