EI Powerlifting: Manipur bag 2 golds on 2nd day

Imphal, April 25 2015 :
Manipur opened the gold account on the 2nd day of the Eastern India Powerlifting Championship at SAI-SAG Hall, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal on Saturday.
Six teams, Mizoram; Asasam; Jharkand; West Bengal; Arunachal Pradesh in addition to host Manipur are participating in the three-day span championship.
N Romola bagged the first gold of Manipur in 47 kg girls section.
Romola lifted 80kg in Squat; 40 kg in Bench Press and 120 kg in Death lift for a total of 240 kg to become the winner.
Amina Begum of Guwahati University with a total lift of 222.5 kg was in second spot while S Victoria of Manipur settles with bronze with a combine lift of 175 kg.
K Homeshori added gold in 57 kg girls event.
Homeshori outclass her rivals with a total lift of 385 kg (150 kg Squat; 85 kg Bench Press; 150 kg Death lift).
N Kunjarani, Arunachal Pradesh (277.5 kg) and U Salma Sultan, Guwahati University (255 kg) bagged the silver and bronze medals respectively.
On the opening day, April 24, Rakesh Sharma, Manipur won a bronze in 59 kg mens category.
He lifted 305 kg in total while Ranjan Majumdar, Assam won the gold in the event with total lift of 430 kg and Lalem Pwja, Mizoram settles for silver with 350 kg lift.
