YWC, Thambalkhong outplayed ABA, kshetrigao 4-0 to cement its place in the quarter finals of the 52nd Sir Churachand Singh KCSI CBE Memorial Football Tournament being played at Mapal kangjeibung.
The win propped YWC to the top of Group A with an all-win record in the three team cluster.
YWC had defeated ESU 2-0 on November 28 .
T Jackychand Singh (11th, 74th) and W Daniel Singh (36th, 41st-P) scored in YWC victory against ABA.
In the other match played today, AIM, Khabam rallied from a two goal deficit to outlast TRAU, Tiddim Road 4-2 .
The Group H clash between the two saw Helun Haokip of TRAU hammering home the tournament's fastest goal only seven seconds into the game with the score increased to 2-0 when P Ajitkumar found the rival net in the 8th minute.
The AIM comeback began with W Rojen curling in a free kick 20 yards from the TRAU goal in the 28th minute and Y Lokeshore tying the score in the 71st.Kh Surjit scored in the 88th and injury time (90+2) to seal the victory for the Khabam side.
The final round of the prestigious tournament had begun on November 28 with YWC defeating ESU.
On November 29, TRUGPU, Nambol upset former champion SSU, Singjamei by a solitary goal while the next day saw MBSU, Wahengbam Leikai crush KSC, Nambulane 3-1 and MPSC cruise to 2-1 victory over PYC, Phoudel.
SU collected maximum points in yesterday's match against NLYC with two first half goals from Joseph Khongsai.
NEROCA, Shangakpham routed RACC, Rengkai (CCpur) 8-0 in the other match played yesterday.
