Imphal, December 02 2008:
INDIA IS trying to suppress Manipur by using different tactics said a statement of the proscribed Revolutionary People Front (RPF) today while alleging that the state could not develop because of such tactics to suppress the people.
Manipur could not be marched ahead with the development because of the kind of governance over the people of the state not because of insurgency, it said.
On the other hand, India government is investing huge amount of money in the name of curbing the revolutionaries only to adapt the habit of earning money in an easy manner and rooted it into the blood of the people and make it a culture of the people, it said.
Such poison like funds invested in the state has led to the elimination of the earning ways of the people of the state and to become a dependent state.
Naturally Manipur is fertile and resourceful place but by the imported goods under the "Neo-colonialism" policy of India, it has become a dependent state.
Now, in order to protect from this "Neo-colonialism" and to able to stand by its own leg, now time has come to take up step and the first and foremost step is to make available food in plenty, RPF observed.
People of Manipur have not able to consume its own produce rice.
It is due to the export of locally produce rice outside the state quietly and the governance is remaining mum on the matter, the statement alleged.
During the year 2007-08, Manipur produced four lakh matric tones of rice and the actual requirement for the people is eight lakhs excluding that consume by the people inflowing from outside the state.
The shortest is four lakhs matric tones while only .95 lakhs imported from outside the state.
Apart from this, rice are importing from Awa (Burma) and in the midst Mainpuri rice are exporting outside the state, it said.
The artificial femine and the second Nupi lal of December 12, 1939 has become meaningful as today also the same policy of "Neo colonialism" is continuing, it said.
But now RPF has decided to fight with it, the statement said while announcing the steps to be taken up by the outfits commencing from this year Nupilal Ninghsing Numit December 12 .
Among other the steps to be taken up included total ban on the export of locally produce rice outside the state beginning from December 12, 2008, to give appropriate punishment to those who violet the ban and no relaxation in any way to the ban imposed on the same.
If there surplus and sale for the propose of buying cash crops, those who export it should give accurate explanation for the same to the outfits, it said while appealing to the people to co-operate with the RPF.
