The re-poll of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election was held today in 34 polling stations under tight security measures.
As stringent security measures were taken up to prevent any unwanted incidents during the re-poll, even journalists who went to collect reports were checked physically by the para military forces despite of showing their ID cards.
State Police personnel, IRB personnel, women police were used besides the large number of para military forces deployed in and around the polling stations.
Voters were seen in long queues at a distances of around 30 metres from the polling stations and each of them were send in to cast their vote in turn only after checking physically.
Separate checking counters were also arranged for female voters inside which they were checked by women police personnel.
At some places, some voters who tried to cast votes twice were seen detained for around 30 minutes and later released later after giving them advice not to repeat it in future.
