In the remote areas of Chandel District, trafficability on ever deteriorating condition of road Chamol- Moltuk with the relentless efforts of the Assam Rifles has been maintained.
With the on set of monsoon the condition of the road was deploring, due to landslides and portion of road being washed away.
42 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under aegis of IGAR (S) persistently undertook the task of keeping the road open for movement, connecting the population living in the far-flung areas.
The highlights of the ongoing process were the volunteer service provided by the Lungkharlown Women Society and the villagers of Larong Khullen, Larong Khunao, Wamku and Dharchul in clearing the area.
42 AR has employed earth moving machines like JCB as well as manual efforts in the ensuing.
The road being very important lifeline, the efforts by the Assam Rifles have been widely appreciated by the people.
