President of All India Congress Committee Sonia Gandhi has condoled the death of Assembly Speaker, Dr S Budhichandra.
According to a delayed report, Sonia Gandhi sent a letter of condolence to Sapam Ongbi Tamubi, wife of the departed Speaker, through the MPCC president, Gaikhangam, who handed over the letter to the addressee
on October 1 .
In the letter, Sonia Gandhi said that she was deeply pained to learn of the sad demise of Dr Sapam Budhichandra, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly.
"This must be a most difficult time for you.
Please remember that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Dr Sapam Budhichandra Singh was a loyal soldier of the Party.
He led by example and many senior leaders valued his opinion and impartial decision making abilities.
He rose to the post of Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly due tohis commitment, dedication to the cause of people and high standards in public life" .
Sonia Gandhi said, they would miss Dr Sapam Budhichandra Singh not only in Manipur but also there at the Congress Headquarters.
"In his sad demise, we have lost a dedicated Party colleague" .
She offered her sincere condolence to her (Tamubi) and pray that she may find the strength to bear this loss, Gandhi said.
