Imphal, December 01 2011:
Road development work on the Jiribam-Barak section of National Highway-37 came to a grinding halt from today as members of Labour Union of 115 RCC of 765 BRO/BRTF resorted to cease work strike to protest non-payment of arrears to the labourers, reports our Jiri correspondent.
Union president Akhan Panmei asserted that the ceasework strike will be sustained until and unless BRO authorities clear the labourers' pending entitlements.
He also maintained that members of the Union had been working round the clock to ensure the State's lifeline is transformed to a motorable highway.
