Imphal, November 16 2009:
A sit-in-protest was staged today at the Electricity department premises located at Keishampat demanding the early and safe release of two employees, including an EE, of the department who were abducted by unidentified gunmen.
Thangjam Tomalchand (58), an EE in the Electric department and Leitanthem Mangi (55), an SO in the Tamenglong division of Electric department were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen apparently for ransom.
Family members of Thangjam Tomalchand and meira paibee members of Khurai Thangjam Leikai, where the EE hails, have participated in the sit-in-protest.
