Imphal, November 16 2009:
A total of 203 state Haj Pilgrims today left Imphal in three flights for Guwahati for their onward journey to Mecca.
State Chief Minister, O Ibobi and state Rural Development and Panchayati Raj minister, Md Allauddin took part in the send-off of the pilgrims.
Among the 249 pilgirms who will proceed to Mecca considered to be the fifth pillar of Muslims, a 38 member pilgrims had already left Imphal yesterday and another eight member team will leave tomorrow.
All the pilgrims from North Eastern States will leave for Mecca in Saudi Arabia on November 18 to take part in the mass worship ceremony on November 25, according to the members of the State Haj Committee.
