Houses ransacked in poll clash

Imphal, January 28, 2012:
As the state went on poll today under tight security, two houses were ransacked by mob in poll clash at Wangjing Tentha A/C in Thoubal district tonight.
The incident occurred when large number of MSCP workers and supporters stormed the house of CPI Agent Ningthoujam Ngobi (34) son of late Chonjon at Wangjing Hodamba Mamang Leikai at around 9 pm tonight.
The mob was trying to burn the house after ransacking it; however police rushed at the spot and dispersed the mob preventing further damage to the house.
After about half an hour, an irate mob of CPI workers and supporters ransacked and burnt the house of MSCP worker Moirangthem Subol (44) son of M Angou at Tentha Khunou Keithel.
Most of the house was destroyed in the arson act.
However, police rushed there and prevented the incident from taking a more gruesome turn.
