AR reaches out to Myanmarese Army

The 26 Assam Rifles posted along the Indo-Myanmar border reached out to their counterparts on the other side even as they celebrated the country's 71st Independence Day alongside the local populace yesterday .
Representatives from the Myanmar Army joined over a hundred guests comprised of village chiefs, ex-servicemen, and students of St Mary's School Behiang hosted by the AR unit to celebrate the solemn occasion at Behiang village .
The gesture extended by the Indian side was reciprocated with the manifestation of gratitude for the kind invitation and warm hospitality accorded to them, said a statement release by 26 AR.
