Tobacco, food items disposed

Bishnupur, September 13 2017:
Food Safety and Standard Enforcement wing along with Bishnupur police personnel, in presence of SDO, Bishnupur disposed tobacco products and unhealthy imported food items worth more than Rs 81,939 at Chotea village Bishnupur district today at around 3 pm .
According to the food safety officer, chewable tobacco products and food items including bakery products without the license of Food Safety and Standard Authority of India were disposed after taking permission from the Pollution Control Board concerned .

The disposed items were seized during a massive drive conducted by Food Safety and Standard Enforcement wing led by the designated officer of Food Safety administration, Bishnupur, at different market places of the district, few weeks back .
The seized items were handed to Food Safety by OC, Bishnupur police station and Kumbi police station .
The disposal of the seized items was carried out at Chotea village, bishnupur in the presence of Bishnupur Municipal Council Chairperson L Maniyaima, SDO, Bishnupur Yumnam Suraj, SDPO, Bishnupur Binoy Chongtham and Nachou Gram Panchayat member L Joykumar.
