Imphal, July 25:
The 16th KNO/KNA Martyrs' Day was observed at generals Hqs, tactical Hqs and at all the divisional Hqs even though the main commemorative function was held at its tactical Hqs in the presence of leaders and representatives from various civil organisations and churches.
The special event was also marked as a day of introspection and prayer for forgiveness to the Almighty God and supplication for His power and guidance in the struggle for national regeneration of the Kuki nation, innformed a release issued by KNO/KNA publicity secretary Lenin H Kuki.
On the occasion, the KNO appealed to the people not be bamboozled by.
Pocryphal and fabricated statements spread by anti-Kuki forces.
Recalling of the Kuki Rising of 1917 -1919, it claimed that "today the KNO is the torch bearer of the same spirit of love and sacrifices made by our forebears".
It further cautioned "Meitei ultra-nationalist (UNLF)" and its frontal bodies not to toy with communal politics in the valley and hill areas.
Saying that the untold hardships and discriminations inflicted upon innnocent Kukis by the front in Parbung in Churachandpur district, Samtal, Lamjan and Molcham in Dingpi areas of Chandel district need no further clarifications or reminders, the KNO warned that if UNLF continues its adamant and ruthless policy on peace loving Kukis along Indo-Burma border areas, the inevitable consequence would be total bedlam in Manipur.
Medical camp: 29 AR organised a medical camp at Kwatha village of Chandel district on July 23 which was attended by large number of people, a release said.
