Imphal, September 19:
Around 10,000 Yongchak trees in Kangchup-Chiru village have been affected with unknown disease characterised by withering and drying of the plants.
Informing this in a statement, secretary Kangchup Chiru Youth Club, Sadar Hills Alen Thanga has drawn the attention of the authorities concerned for taking up necessary remedial measures.
He said that Yangchang product is one of the main source of income and livelihood of the villagers and usually by the month of September every year, the villagers start earning income by selling the products.
