A free medical camp was organised today at Kyamgei Heibong Makhong by Manipur Development Agency and Kanglei Sports Academy (Kangleisha) under the sponsorship of Health and Family Welfare Department and JNIMS.
Around 1200 people were examined at the medical camp in addition to providing medicines free of cost to needy patients.
Besides examining and diagnosing different disease and ailments, an awareness programme on HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria etc was also held as a part of the camp.
Eye tests on cataract patients were also conducted for necessary operation at a later date.
Talking about the health camp which was also participated by Ayush doctors, Principal Secretary (Health) Ram Muivah said that such medical camp were organised in places where there is proper health care facilities.
Efforts are on to set up 100 more health centres in the State under National Rural Health Mission.
A similar medical camp was held at Muirei village, Ukhrul district on February 3 .
