Hearing on Dr Kishan's murder on Mar 14

The next hearing in the CBI special court (Patiala House), new Delhi with regard to the murder of the then Kasom Khullen SDO Dr Th Kishan and his two sub-ordinate staff members would be held on March 14, said advocate Khaidem Mani while speaking at the fourth death anniversary of Dr Kishan, Y Token and A Rajen.
The anniversary observance organised by the JAC Against the Brutal Murder of Dr Kishan, Y Token and A Rajen was held today at Maparee Ningshingkol (memorial complex) near Cheirap Court complex in Uripok.
As one of the speakers, Mani informed that in addition to 43 witnesses out of the total 68 having deposed before the Court, statement of main accused Hopeson Ningshen of the NSCN (IM) has also been recorded.
Expressing hope that the case would be expedited, he also stated that the CBI had issued notice against three other accomplices of Ningshen who had been absconding/evading arrest.
Describing the trio's killing as the most brutal and inhumane act, Mani also noted that the case is being taken up by the CBI at the national capital as there is apprehension that legal proceedings might be disrupted in case it is transferred here.
former Minister RV Mingthing, in his address, lamented that killing of a dedicated public servant like Dr Kishan and his two staff members is a huge blow not only for the people of Kasom Khullen sub-division but the entire State.
He also appealed to all concerned to ensure that such incident do not recur in the State in future.
Earlier, JAC convenor Y Kapur recounted Dr Kishan and his slain colleagues' endeavours to bring development in Kasom Khullen sub-division.
Asserting that the JAC would not relent until and unless all the murderers get fitting punishment, he stated that apart from the forthcoming hearing against NSCN-IM's Lt Col Hopeson Ningshen, another case against the then Ukhrul district Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pal is in the final stages.
The convenor also conveyed gratitude for the masses' continued and mature support to the JAC.
Besides paying floral tributes at the portrait of the three, Roop Raag artistes also paid musical tribute.
