Imphal, February 17, 2013:
Reacting to the incident where people of three localities of Khurai stormed at the Sega Road Konjeng Hajari Leikai office of Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) yesterday, the students' body has said that it will not concede to such incidents.
In a press statement issued by Secretary Publicity Angouton Khuman, the students' body said that KSA had already appealed the general public to stop organising festivities, shumang leela, thaabal, musical concerts and housie (tambola game) until upcoming Class X and XII examinations are over.
However, against the appeal of KSA, three localities of Khurai jointly organised a housie draw (tambola game) on February 14 last thereby giving disturbance to the students of the area.
About the incident happened at KSA office yesterday, the statement said that the hullabaloo was the creation of a few 'hoodlums'.
It added that KSA volunteers were compelled to manhandle the tambola organisers during a meeting at KSA office as there was some heated exchange of words between KSA members and tambola organisers.
Then a group of people of three localities of Khurai led by a few hoodlums stormed at KSA office forgetting that the students' body is a State level organisation working for the welfare of the students of Manipur.
Maintaining that KSA would not concede to such incidents, the students' body said that these few hoodlums would be punished one by one for creating nuisance and going against the wish of the students community.
KSA also expressed concern over joining of womenfolk of Khurai in the incident.
The press statement also said that the ongoing ban imposed by KSA could be immediately suspended if anybody comes up with rightful argument against the ongoing movement.
