Set a fix date for Class X and XII exams: UARSOM

The Government and concerned authority should fix a date for the postponed Class X and XII examinations.
Laishram Joy, president, United Association of Recognised Schools of Manipur (UARSOM) said this today at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club.
He told the media that the Government had indefinitely postponed the Class X exam taken by Board of Secondary Education Manipur and Class XII exam taken by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The postponement of examinations has put a lot of pressure on the students who had been preparing for the exam and created a sense of anxiety amongst them, he added.

L Joy also informed that an executive body meeting of UARSOM was held yesterday and various issues faced by educational institutes in the state specially due to the pandemic was discussed.
The meeting also took decisions to ensure that all the schools are following the directives of the Government, taking UARSOM and other stakeholders into confidence if the said exams are to be cancelled if the situation worsens and initiation of class as soon as the condition permits or the severity of the second wave lessen in the coming days, he added.
UARSOM also said the schools should try to conduct online classes as per their and the students convenience and fees are also to be collected to ensure salaries of the teachers can be paid in time and if any issues come up regarding collection of fees, online classes and other academic activities will be stopped immediately until the issue is sorted out.
District units of UARSOM will also monitor at their respective areas if the directives of the Government are followed by the schools or not.
