To discuss and finalise the number of Central Paramilitary personnel that would be required for deployment to ensure smooth conduct of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly election scheduled to be held sometime in early part of next year, a meeting of the State Level Security Co-ordination Committee has been convened tomorrow.
According to an official source, officials of Home Department, PHQs, Deputy Commissioners and SPs would be participating in the meeting to be held at the conference hall of Old Secretariat, South Block with Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) PC Lawmkunga in the chair.
Besides, finalising the number of Central Paramilitary forces that would be required for deployment, the meeting would also hold discussion on identifying sensitive polling stations, the source disclosed.
Acting on the instruction of Election Commission of India, the office of CEO has already submitted a list of the festivals and examinations which normally fall during January/February, the source added.
The election to the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly is expected to be held either in last week of January or first week of February.
The by-election to the Yaiskul Assembly election would also be conducted among the general elections.
