ADC Election for ten constituencies on Oct 24

Imphal, September 20 2011:
In all those constituencies of Senapati and Ukhrul where the voters failed to turn up in the recently held Autonomous District Council election (May, 2010), fresh elections will be held in October 24, 2011 .
Addressing the media, Chitra, Election Officer, said that fresh elections will be held in 8 constituencies of Senapati and 2 constituencies under Ukhrul district.
The election notification will be issued on the September 22 of this month.
If at all re polling is required then it will be done on the October 27 .
And the counting of votes will be done on the October 31 .
She further said that in all 50960 voters will cast their votes in 67 polling stations on that day.
Out of this, 26421 voters are female and the remaining are male voters.
335 Polling personnel will be deployed in all.
The 8 constituencies falling under Senapati District Council are Tungam Khullen , Punanamei, Song-Song, Maram, Lairouching, Chawainamei Khullen and Phaibung Khullen.
And the 2 constituencies under Ukhrul Autonomous District Council are Chingai and Shangshak.
She further went on to say that the final list of the electoral rolls of the 10 constituencies has been published on the September 12.Verification process of the polling stations has also been started.
The DCs of Senapati and Ukhrul will be the District Election Officers of the said election.
335 polling personnel have been assigned duties for the election and another 34 personnel is being reserved for the day.
